Strategic Tool Implementation #4 and #4.1

Image
So as you know, here at The Downerson Manor we have a deep appreciation for properly implemented implements. Today we knocked out a few (more) walls and as you will see in the videos, there is only one correct way (give or take a baker's dozen) to use a "Claw/Plybar/Prybar!" enjoy.

Anxious Amy

I know you all have been enjoying the videos we have posted. What can I say? We’re freaking hilarious. But what you also want to know is, how are WE coming along, living together. It’s been important to all four of us to talk about the interworkings of how it’s really going so that when some of you decide to do this (and we hope you do) you don’t go into it expecting it to be all fun, games and dancing. It’s important to me personally to be transparent because, well… I think it’s stupid that we aren’t, when doing so can help others and free others up to do the same. Ben’s parents were over one night and his dad, James was saying,(my paraphrase) “You know, when you get married you realize, ‘Wow, I am a really selfish person!’ and then you have kids and God REALLY uses that to show you how selfish you are!” I smiled and nodded thinking, “Yeah, or living with another couple!” I came into this being used to just living with Jay. And even if you think you have one,  it is the largest moveable part on your home.  On top of that,  it is on the outside of the house,  and rather prominent at that.  So we didnt want our crappy ugly cracked jacked rotted one,  so we have been wrestling with dropping 12-1500 bucks on a new one. Well,  we found one today,  and it is exactly the style we want.  Follow the math kids.

captain america, a chop saw, retaining wall and phil collins

So I thought I'd give you guys a bit of an update. Having the sudden burst of sun in Portland last Saturday inspired Ben & I to do some work on the retaining wall we're building along the side of the house. It's gonna look really cool at the end. It'll level out the yard, and with the bamboo we'll be planting in it, it'll be a nice natural barrier. :) Ben needed some spikes to help with leveling the posts, so he told me to go use the chop saw to chop off the tops. Now, mind you, i've never used a chop saw before...and well, let's just say it's evident. Our awesome friend, Jess Gilchrist came over for a couple hours to help ben out with the posts. They had 23 post holes to fill and busted out over half while Jess was over for a couple hours. He was a real life-saver. Not to mention a moral booster. In other news, we wanted you to see what a typical evening in the Downerson household might look like. Now, depending on the evening, we sometimes are
